Update
MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A possible link exists between two recent murders in Mossel Bay.
A 20-year-old man appeared in the Mossel Bay Magistrate's Court on charges of murder and business robbery, following the shooting and subsequent death of Lira Langiso, a 38-year-old Ethiopian national, on 19 October at a shop in H. Dangatye Street, JCC Camp.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Kappie Kapp, said that after the murder of the foreign national, the suspect fled the scene in the victim's vehicle, but was soon apprehended after he was involved in an accident in Alhof Avenue, Extension 8. He had crashed the vehicle into a fence.
"Further investigation led to the possible linking of the suspect to the murder of Nazeem Petersen (65), who was shot and killed in Extension 13 on 12 October," said Kapp.
The suspect remains in custody in George until his next court appearance on 30 October.
