MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A family member of one of the inmates at the Mossel Bay Youth Centre said the phones used to contact inmates had been out of service since November last year. 

In an inquiry to the Department of Correctional Services, Mossel Bay Advertiser asked whether this could be confirmed, and if so, what the reason for the delay in fixing the problem was. 

The department confirmed it is experiencing challenges concerning the telephone system at its Mossel Bay Youth Centre.

"This issue is, however, only affecting certain sections of the centre. 

This matter has been reported to Telkom and we eagerly await its services to remedy the situation.
