MOSSEL BAY NEWS - What was thought to be a person swimming out into the deep waters of Dana Bay's first Beach earlier this morning, 13 February, is now suspected to have actually been a sea creature.
KwaNonqaba Police Station spokesperson Warrant Officer Kappie Kapp said the station was called by a witness who had been on First Beach this morning.
He said the witness had told police he thought he had seen what appeared to be a man swimming out to sea.
Kapp said the Police arrived at the scene, as well as members of the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI).
A drone was sent out over the water to where the suspected man was swimming. Kapp said after analysing the footage for a while, it was established by those at the scene that it was likely a sea creature and not a person.
Police and NSRI have since left the scene.
