MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A pedestrian was hit by a motor vehicle last night, Sunday 26 May, on Louis Fourie Road, near the Mountain View housing complex in Heiderand.
Police spokesperson, Sergeant Chris Spies, said the incident took place at 18:06.
Head injuries
When police arrived at the accident scene, they found the pedestrian - a man - had head injuries. He was taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment and discharged later.
Mossel Bay Police Station detectives are investigating a case of reckless and negligent driving, Spies said.
No arrest had been made yet.
"The circumstances surrounding this incident are under investigation. The docket will be referred to the National Prosecuting Authority upon conclusion of the investigation for a decision to prosecute or otherwise," Spies noted.
"The police have interviewed the driver of the vehicle," Spies said.
