GARDEN ROUTE | KAROO NEWS - In the latest weather update from the South African Weather Service, warm to hot weather is expected over the Garden Route and Karoo.
Impact-based warnings
Yellow level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms resulting in excessive lightning and heavy downpours are expected over the southern high ground of Namakwa District of the Northern Cape, the Beaufort West and Prince Albert Municipalities of the Western Cape, northern parts of Eastern Cape, southern parts of Free State, western parts of KwaZulu-Natal as well as the southern escarpment of Mpumalanga.
Fire danger warnings
Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over most of the central interior of Northern Cape, in places in the western parts of Western Cape - Beaufort West, Laingsburg and Oudtshoorn municipalities - as well as places in the western parts of Eastern Cape.
It will be partly cloudy along the coast with isolated showers and thundershowers from the afternoon. The wind will be light to moderate westerly to south-westerly.
