MOSSEL BAY NEWS - There was a whole lot of merriment and a message of goodwill rang out at Pinnacle Point recently when the estate hosted its very first pantomime.
The Fourth Wise Man, from the pen of Dr Amos van der Merwe, was typically full of wit, wisdom and the wonderful sounds of the sixties.
Several years ago Van der Merwe, aq former urologist and published author, co-wrote Christmas productions performed in Mossel Bay in aid of charitable causes.
Currently a resident of Pinnacle Point, Van der Merwe created a feel-good story about a slave and his journey, not only to win the hand of the love of his life, but also the very stuff Christmas is made of - faith, hope and love.
Van der Merwe's wife, former gynaecologist Dr Annemie Louw, also showed her artistic side, playing the piano during the pantomime.
The pantomime was staged on 16 and 17 December. Both shows were sold out.
