MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Mossel Bay author Sharon Brummer and internationally recognised poet René Bohnen are giving painting and writing workshops every month.
Each month they offer a fun painting morning with a different subject and each month, a writing workshop.
Every three months, they will offer a poetry workshop.
Bohnen has a BA Hons degree in English literature and an MA degree in creative writing.
Brummer has published nine books of various genres.
Both of them paint, mostly using watercolours.
They have called this joint initiative Words to Paint.
Painting is done in conjunction with words - poetry or stories. The aim is to nurture creativity. All painting materials are supplied. Both beginners and experienced painters are welcome.
The writers' workshops are for those who wish to write and also those who are in the process of writing.
Brummer says: "We offer workshops on the following: genre, dialogue, writing style, plot, placing scenes together, revision, language and publishing during 2023."
Bohnen's poetry has been published in numerous poetry analogues and magazines and she has also published some of these herself. For more information about the workshops, contact Brummer (sharonwork@mweb.co.za).
