MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Rene Hodges, a resident of Nautilus, found an alarming sight on the beach during her late afternoon beach-walk on Saturday.
5-gram packets of cockroach killing bait, some still intact, were washing up on the beaches of Nautilus, Boggomsbaai and Springerbaai in a radius of about 1 kilometer.
Yesterday another 20 packets were picked up. These items have most likely been thrown overboard from a ship.
Rene, being a passionate nature lover, looked for sick or dead seabirds in the area but up until now, none have been found. If any of the packets are found, Rene can be contacted on 082 341 0582.
Please do not dispose of these items in domestic or any other public waste bins. Handle with care and keep out of reach of children and pets.
The Mossel Bay Municipality is on stand by to help with the proper disposal if needed.
