MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Mossel Bay Advertiser received an enquiry from a member of the public in Dana Bay, saying it appeared there was a red tide.
However, on enquiry to the Mossel Bay Municipality, the Advertiser found out it was sea debris being churned up in the rough water.
Mushfiqah Abrahams, acting senior environmental officer at the municipality, said there were "high surf conditions".
Debris on the seabed was stirred up into the sea and also washed out on to the beach, she said.
