MOSSEL BAY NEWS & VIDEO - Family members of Naledi Phangindawo have been at the Mossel Bay Regional court since early this morning, Friday, 3 December.
The 34-year-old Mlondi Ntlangulela is accused of axing Naledi to death in June last year.
Eyewitnesses told police that he attacked Naledi without any warning and hacked her repeatedly over her entire body, including her face.
Police spokesperson, Captain Malcolm Pojie, says he fled the scene when the ambulance arrived.
Naledi was declared dead on arrival at the Mossel Bay provincial hospital.

Ntlangulela later handed himself over to the Lwandle police, Cape Town.
It is expected that sentencing in this case will start today.
