MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A Sunday afternoon drive through the countryside was once an activity enjoyed by many.
But just going there and back again, to see how far it is, can be a bit boring.
Reinvent the Sunday afternoon outing by taking a short drive through the countryside, but stopping for an inspiring and enjoyable concert in a unique venue before driving home again with your internal batteries fully charged for the week ahead.
The Laminin Agora Celebration venue, 8km along the R382 in the Oudtshoorn direction will host a performance by Garden Route orchestra Carpe Musicam! at 15:30 on 30 January.
The programme, Highlights 2021, will comprise 11 of Carpe Musicam!’s best items of 2021 and nothing too classical which might interfere with the digestion of your Sunday midday meal.
Just a varied selection of light music by ABBA, Andrew Lloyd-Webber, Ennio Morricone and a whole bunch of others, which will get your feet tapping and warm your soul.
Laminin Agora can seat 2 000, so there will be no danger of having to sit too close to your neighbour, or of someone’s head blocking your view of the 45-piece orchestra. Windows along both sides of the venue allow for plenty of ventilation as well as offering stunning views of the surrounding hills and valleys.
The Carpe Musicam orchestra is ready to entertain this year.
Tickets are priced at R150 each and are available at www.carpemusicam.co.za.
"Come early and enjoy some liquid refreshment from the cash bar while taking in the panoramic views afforded by the huge stoep," invites Elsabe Barkhuizen of Carpe Musicam!.
