MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Dawood Asmal has been officially appointed as the new chief financial officer (CFO) of Mossel Bay Municipality.

He took over the lead of the Finance Department on 1 May from the former CFO, Kobus Bruwer, who was appointed temporarily to the position.

Asmal qualified as a chartered accountant in 1996 and held various roles in commerce in the private sector.

He was the group financial director / chief financial officer of a JSE-listed company for over 15 years as well as the managing director of a high technology semi-conductor manufacturing facility that operated internationally.

He was also with the Game Discount World Group, Thebe Investment Corporation and City Express, a high fashion ladies' clothing store chain.

Asmal brings a wealth of experience in both the corporate and commercial fields to Mossel Bay and looks forward to running the Mossel Bay Municipality's finance department as efficiently as possible and helping ensure the municipality achieves its mandate of delivering the highest level of service possible to the community of Mossel Bay.
