MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Mossel Bay municipal officials removed the carcass of a whale that washed ashore at Hersham Beach near Glentana on Monday, 6 February.
The carcass was badly decomposed and was first spotted in the water near The Point in Mossel Bay over the weekend.
The spokesperson for the Stranded Marine Animal Rescue Team (S.M.A.R.T.), Val Marsh, told the Mossel Bay Advertiser her team had been keeping an eye on the carcass since they first became aware of it.
The beach at Hersham was closed for a while and the carcass removed.
