MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Mossel Bay Municipality has a younger, more modern-looking logo.
Besides this, the municipality boasts a heraldic coat of arms that continues to be used by the executive mayor's office for all official communication.
All registered coats of arms are protected from misuse under the Heraldry Act.
Anyone who abuses a registered municipal coat of arms can be prosecuted and fined on conviction.
For years the municipality has also used a marketing emblem comprising three maritime sails signifying Mossel Bay's close ties with the sea. This logo was rejuvenated and given a more modern font and image.
"The renewal of the logo is in line with the executive mayor and the council's efforts to ensure Mossel Bay remains the preferred destination for investors and residents and underpins the municipality's pursuit of service delivery excellence," the municipality noted in a statement.
The rejuvenation will follow systematically. Older emblems on signposts and vehicles will be replaced as they become faded or worn.
The new design was created internally by two young interns at the municipality, who excelled with their brief by creating a portfolio of innovative corporate images.
