MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Mossel Bay wedding planner Werner Gilroy is set to appear in the Mossel Bay Regional Court again next Wednesday, 22 April, on several charges of fraud.
Gilroy, who was the owner of the then Blue Lilies Wedding and Events company, allegedly defrauded several brides from around the country of thousands of rands, totalling about R1m, during 2020 and 2021.
The brides allegedly deposited the money into Gilroy's account. However, they allegedly discovered afterwards that most of the service providers had not been paid in full. This led to several cases being opened against Gilroy.
