Monday Garden Route fires update

GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - Latest update on the fires in the Garden Route region.

JONKERSBERG EAST TO OUTENIQUA PASS - Monitoring in its final phase.

WABOOMSKRAAL - Fire lines are cold. CapeNature will monitor the area during its final phase.

NORTH WEST OF JONKERSBERG / MTO - Mopping up of area in progress. Will be continued throughout the day.

SPITSKOP / DUBBELBERG - Wildfire contained. A ground recce will be undertaken to confirm.

GARCIA PASS - The area is being monitored (final phase of monitoring at the moment).

BUFFELSNEK / KRANSBOS - Wildfire contained.

DIEPWALLE - Wildfire contained.

SEVEN PASSES - Garden Route District Municipality patrolling and monitoring the area.

MODDERVLEI / GOUNA - SANParks will burn out a smoldering piece of vegetation in the Moddervlei/Gouna area which is surrounded by indigenous forests. This will create quite a bit of smoke.

Generally conditions are looking good. No flare-ups have been reported throughout the evening and yesterday.
