MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Mossel Bay Municipality annually appoints students for the Mayoral Advancement of Youth Programme.
These students applied for an internship with the Premier Advancement of Youth Programme, but could not find placement. They were then contacted and interviewed for a student internship programme at the Mossel Bay Municipality.
The programme intends to give these students workplace exposure and capacitate them with skills such as computer literacy, work ethics, office and project management, learner's and driver's licence training, and more.
Fourteen students were appointed for the financial year, 2019/2020, in different departments at the municipality, such as Legal, Social, Supply Chain Management, Planning and Development, Local Economic Development, Sport and Libraries, Fire and Rescue Services, Traffic Department and Public Participation.
The aim is to capacitate these young people to help them make decisions on their future careers.
Twelve young people were chosen as the latest intake of the Mayoral Advancement of Youth Programme.
