MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Local organisations and businesses set their soccer boots on the pitch this Mandela Day to gather donations of school shoes and bags for local primary school children in need.
Hosted and organised by Henra, the event was held at D’Almeida Stadium from 18 to 19 July and saw six Mossel Bay companies and organisations participating.
The public supporting the teams was encouraged to bring the bags and shoes along with them, and several participating businesses committed to making their donations by the end of this month. After all the donations have been collected, they will be handed over to the schools.
The Greater Mossel Bay SAPS Soccer Team was the tournament’s winner.
This initiative was held to make a positive impact on local families and schools.
