MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A suspect has been arrested and is expected to appear in the Mossel Bay Magistrate's Court today, 24 March, in connection with the murder of 40-year-old Sakhiwo Golan Rasmen.
He was stabbed multiple times in the chest on Friday, 21 March.
KwaNonqaba Police Station spokesperson Warrant Officer Kappie Kapp said police officers were called out to New Rest Informal Settlement in KwaNonqaba at about 23:30 on Friday.
When the police arrived, they found the body of Rasmen in a street near some homes in the settlement.
Kapp said Rasmen was declared dead at the scene by emergency medical services.
After the police had spoken to community members and several eye witnesses about the stabbing, a 24-year-old man was arrested the same night, in a home near the murder scene.
The man is to appear in court today on a charge of murder.
The motive and circumstances surrounding the stabbing are still being investigated.
