MOSSEL BAY NEWS AND VIDEO - Mystery surrounds a man-like figure sitting atop rocks below the Cape St. Blaize Lighthouse Restaurant.
Questions about where the figure came from and why it was placed there, remain unanswered at this stage.
Cape St. Blaize Lighthouse Restaurant co-owner, Marius Kearney said he was out on the deck yesterday morning, 16 July preparing the restaurant for the day ahead when he spotted a "man" sitting on precariously high rocks below the eatery.
"I thought he was meditating, but also thought it was a bit dangerous. About 45 minutes later, I looked again and he was still sitting there, but he hadn't moved," said Kearney.
"I thought it was odd, but kind of nice and went on with my day and sort of forgot about it. A little later, I saw police down there, shouting at the 'man' to come down. Someone was telling him not to jump.

"I shouted down to the police that he had been there from the morning and told them to come for a coffee after they had managed to get him down. The police didn't come to the restaurant and I saw late yesterday afternoon that the 'man' was still there."
He said he and his wife chatted about the situation then and wondered what was going on with the "man".
"This morning Michael de Nobrega came to the restaurant. I asked him if he had seen the figure and he said he had. We debated if he was real or a mannequin. By that point, I thought it must be a mannequin. Michael then went down to get some drone footage.
"I wonder who planted it and what the story is behind it. What is the purpose? It was so well done," he said.
De Nobrega said he had no idea where it came from and knew it had already been there for a whole day by the time he went down to get the video of it. He posted the footage on his Facebook page.
