MOSSEL BAY NEWS - On Women’s Day, 9 August, we commemorate the actions of the 20 000 strong women who opposed the oppressive pass laws in 1956.
The actions of these brave women have left a legacy that is celebrated even today, but we tend to forget that even the strong also age.
Sadly, many of our elderly and their accomplishments are forgotten as soon as they step over the threshold of a retirement home. The elderly are frequently neglected and impoverished. It is with this in mind that Rotaract Mossel Bay celebrates the elderly this Women’s Day by starting a goods drive for Mossel Bay’s "golden girls".
Rotaract is appealing to the public of Mossel Bay to open their hearts this year by donating a care box. The contents of this box should not exceed R150 and should contain necessary toiletries.
Care boxes can be delivered to the offices of Herbie Oosthuizen and Associates at 71 Montagu Street, Mossel Bay.
To enquire, contact Bianca (044 601 8700).
Enquiries after hours can be made to Conrad (cnrdolivier16@gmail.com) or email rotaract.mosselbay@gmail.com.
