MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A Grade 11 learner of Global Academy of Education, Bandile Shange, was elected as this year's commander for the junior district operational command centre of the South African Police Service in Mossel Bay on Tuesday 28 July.

Bandile has been involved with the Mossel Bay Police since last year, when he served as the junior head Vispol commander alongside another learner of Global Academy of Education, Anelisa Radebe, the junior station commander for 2025.

Bandile told Mossel Bay Advertiser he is excited about the opportunity and feels confident that he will do a great job. "I have a lot of support from my family, my friends and my school. I feel good," he said.

Each of the police stations in Mossel Bay, as well as all police stations in South Africa, have their own junior police commissioners, who are elected each year.

These learners serve as the eyes and ears of the Mossel Bay Police in their schools and will shadow their station's head of detectives, head of Vispol, support head and commander.
