Junior councillors honoured

MOSSE BAY NEWS - The junior town council consists of chosen representatives of high schools in the greater Mossel Bay area.

They received recognition at the monthly council meeting for their community service and the contribution they make as junior councillors.

They also received their official name tags to wear on their school uniforms.

"When you are at your respective schools, you are part of that school community. Remember, however, that when you come together as junior councillors, you represent the young people and the community of the greater Mossel Bay area.

"I am proud of each of you and look forward to observing your development as the leaders of tomorrow," Speaker Alderman Petru Terblanche said at the monthly council meeting on Wednesday, 30 October.

Alderman Terblanche said the junior council was the incubator for the future councillors and youth leadership that would take over the reins from the older guard.

Mossel Bay's junior town council consists of chosen representatives of the various high schools in the greater Mossel Bay area.
