MOSSEL BAY NEWS AND VIDEO - The first horse patrols this festive season started on 12 December at Santos Beach.
The horse patrols are an initiative of the Community Policing Forum (CPF).
The next patrols will take place on the following days
• Saturday, 19 December from 11:00 to 15:00 and Saturday night from 18:30 to 20:30.
• Sunday, 20 December from 11:00 to 15:00.
• Sunday, 27 December from 11:00 to 15:00.
• Sunday, 3 January from 11:00 to 15:30.

The plan is to ride shifts on each day and change riders through the course of the ride or as riders need to take a break.
The white feed vehicle will be following them again this year, as well as the volunteer ground support vehicles to carry standby riders and horse snacks along the way.
Skorpios security has made its property available again this year for the base. The riders and horses will meet there and depart from there on each ride.
The riders will be dressed in dark or black riding clothes, riding helmets and masks as per goverment-prescribed disaster management regulations.
