MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Horse patrols are being introduced in several parts of the greater Mossel Bay area to ensure greater visibility of crime prevention personnel and to deter petty criminals from opportunistic crimes.
Horses will be deployed along routes close to some of the popular beaches.
This follows a decision by the municipal council to allow horse patrols also on beaches, although horses will only be deployed on beaches as of April next year.
The Mossel Bay Community Policing Forum and the neighbourhood watches associated with the Mossel Bay Police Station will increase their patrols - also on local beaches - to ensure greater vigilance.
