GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - An exciting event - a tower building competition - is taking place on 13 November.
Beauty pageant title holders who have been collecting non-perishable foods will try to build the highest tower possible - from tins, boxes and buckets of food.
Pageant winners from Mossel Bay, George and surrounds will take part in the Southern Cape challenge at the Oakhurst Hotel, 119 Meade Street, George. Eden FM will broadcast live from the event.
Different regions in South Africa will be connected via Zoom and each area will donate food collected to charities locally after the towers have been built. It is a regional and interprovincial challenge.
Heading up the challenge in the Southern Cape is Karen Gray, who has been the judge for the Role Models Foundation and the Mr and Mrs Garden Route pageant in the past and is now taking part herself in the coming Mrs United Continent 2021 competition, in which she is a finalist. Her extensive charity work is ongoing.
Karen is the director of Crawlers & Crowns Eden SA Pageants, Modelling & Photo Competitions and Model Academy and a national scout for Top Model SA (Opulent Models).
After a long, tough lockdown, all the title holders are raring to take up their charity work again and help those in need. They work together on charity projects.
Business owners and members of the public are asked to support this worthy cause.
Call Dessi (079 411 4563) and she will connect you with any of the participants in the Mossel Bay and George areas.
All titleholders have said they are looking forward to the big building task and that they add all their love to each and every tin, box and bucket of food "because our communities stand up for one another and there should be no hunger among us".
