GREAT BRAK RIVER NEWS -  Two men are facing more than just a major headache after the Great Brak River Police discovered 20 000 painkillers with an estimated street value of R50 000 last night, 14 September.

The police had received information about a car possibly transporting drugs. They stopped the vehicle on the R102 to Great Brak River and found the painkillers, transported in 20 pill bottles. 

They arrested the two occupants, aged 43 and 47, on the spot.

The police also booked the vehicle and a cellphone for further investigation.

In South Africa, Section 22 of the Medicines and Related Substances Act (MRSA) states that only licensed pharmacies and registered healthcare professionals may sell or dispense medicines. 

The two men face charges stemming from this act. They were released later that evening, as lab results are needed before the case can proceed in court. They will thus appear when these become available.
