GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - Albertinia Police are investigating a culpable homicide case following the death of a 16-year-old girl on Monday, 29 April.
Sergeant Chris Spies, spokesperson for the police, said according to a report, police responded to an alert about an accident between two vehicles on Saturday, 27 April, at 04:30 on the N2 near the Gourits Bridge.
"The victim sustained multiple injuries and was transported to a medical facility in Mossel Bay. She was later transferred to a hospital in George for medical care and was declared dead on Monday," said Spies.
Two suspects, aged 31 and 41, appeared in the Albertinia Magistrate's Court on charges of reckless and negligent driving on Monday.
When the victim died the reckless and negligent driving case was changed to culpable homicide.
