GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - Garden Route Game Lodge recently celebrated its 20-year anniversary at Jakkalsvlei wine farm near Herbertsdale.
Established in 1999, the well-known game lodge outside Albertinia treated its 120 staff members to a lunch from the pizza menu and a selection of wines from Jakkalsvlei vineyards.
Garden Route Game Lodge has many achievements and milestones to celebrate and this was an opportunity to thank staff for their valuable contribution to the success of the lodge.
Some of the longer serving staff who deserve recognition include Elna Willemse, Eva Michaels, Maggie Moses, Charlene Russouw, Leoni Nomdo, Yolande Oosthuizen, Jacky Melani, Abie Block, Hannes van Tonder, Christine Losper, Theresa Oosthuizen, Jolisma Prins and Myla Vaaltyn.
They have all been at the game lodge for 10 years or more, with Michaels having been with GRGL since day one.
The lodge recently announced the opening of its new spa, which is also open to day visitors. The latest news is that Garden Route Game Lodge welcomed the awarding of a four-star Game Lodge Grading by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa.
The 20-year anniversary celebration coincided with the birth of five cheetah cubs on the reserve, even more reason to celebrate.
