MOSSEL BAY NEWS - William Davy, a former fire chief in Mossel Bay who served the community for 14 years, passed away today, 17 September, after a battle with cancer.
Davy had been appointed in 1983 and was the first officially appointed fire chief of Mossel Bay.
Prior to his death, several members of Mossel Bay Fire, Rescue and Disaster Management had participated in a special procession in honour of Davy.
From his sickbed, he expressed the wish to see a fire engine again and his family arranged the special procession, in the form of a drive by, with Mossel Bay Fire, Rescue and Disaster Management.
