MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Rugby lovers from several local underprivileged schools, between the ages of 13 and 15, spent some time with the South Western District (SWD) Eagles at Laerskool Ruiterbos, Mossel Bay, on Mandela Day, 18 July.
This excited group of learners was welcomed to the field and received special shirts, some orange, some white, and others green, in which to play rugby.
The learners were then able to get their favourite Eagles players to sign their shirts before spending 67 minutes receiving rugby coaching and participating in some fun skill sessions and team-building games.
The players gave the children a motivational talk before handing them tickets to their semi-final rugby game that afternoon, which the Eagles won. The learners were given a meal and refreshments at the end of the session.
Outeniqua Game Farm organised the event.
