MOSSEL BAY NEWS EN VIDEO'S - While Mossel Bay battled a raging fire in the Hartenbos Heuwels area, several other fires in the Southern Cape stretched the capacity of firefighting crews to the limit.
The George Municipality and Garden Route District Municipality assisted Mossel Bay with firefighting crews and equipment while at the same time fires raged at Hoekwil and Gansekraal.
George firefighters also had to contend with a fire behind their dumpsite, where three vehicles were in attendance as well as a fire at the Outeniqua Research Farm.
The Garden Route District Municipality (GRDM) was reportedly also attending to a blaze at Boplaas, north of Touwsranten.
Apart from Working on Fire resources being deployed in Mossel Bay, aerial resources were also required at Gansekraal in the Kammanassie to assist ground teams and local farmers who battled this fire into the night.

By Tuesday afternoon at 14:00 there were no active fires in the Garden Route District municipal area, GRDM Fire Services reported.
