Despite calls by the local neighbourhood watch for residents of P Lorea Street to get ready to evacuate, no official instruction in this regard has been received.
The presence of parked cars at the entrance to the St Blaize hiking trail has led to fears that hikers may be trapped on the hiking trail. Authorities are investigating this.
Residents are asked to refrain from using the access road until the all clear is given, and to abide by the instructions of authorities on the scene.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
