GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - The Garden Route SPCA has two exciting fundraising events this month.
The Boots and Boogie Country Dance takes place at the George showgrounds on 24 May at 19:30.
"Come and release your inner cowboy or cowgirl," an SPCA spokesperson invites.
Put on your stetson, checked shirt, boots, spangles and jeans and join the party of the year. A prize will be awarded to the best dressed cowboy or cowgirl.
There will be live country music with Maritza (see her facebook page for more about her) and Onbekend. A cash bar and food will be available.
Tickets cost R120 each and are available from Joey Sellner (082 464 8537), or at the SPCA office in George.
"Come on y'all, toss away your inhibitions and line dance the night away."
The next event is Woman Behind the Mask, which will take place at the town hall in Mossel Bay on 31 May at 18:00 for 18:30
Besides the Mossel Bay SPCA branch, the beneficiary will be the Woman Empowerment Trauma Rooms.
Well known Craig du Toit Nel will be the honorary guest for the evening. "Craig has not visited Mossel Bay before and he is really extremely funny," an SPCA spokesperson says. Dust off your evening dress, get out your high heels and buy a ticket for the show. Wearing a mask is a must. Tickets are R150 per person and seating will be in the form of tables of 10. There will be free wine, gin and snacks, lucky draws and tons of fun.
The SPCA hopes to collect R80 000, and therefore, appeals for any sponsors to support their fundraiser generously.
There will also be an auction at the event. Tickets are available at Mooiste Jy in Marsh Street or call 071 361 8049.
Put on your boots and come boogie for a good cause.
