KWANONQABA NEWS - The 15-year-old Esihle Nyosa, a Mossel Bay boxer training with the iKhaya Boxing Club in KwaNonqaba, has been selected for the Western Cape team that will compete in the Cadet and Junior National Boxing Championships in Kimberley from 29 September to 4 October.
She had brought home a gold medal from the recent Sanabo Western Cape Provincial Boxing Championships in Hermanus, which earned her her selection.
The club is based at the Barcelona Hall in KwaNonqaba, where 26 young boxers between the ages of 12 and 21 train under coach Lazola Thole.
Thole told Mossel Bay Advertiser it was Esihle’s first time competing in the provincial championships.
Esihle is one of the boxing club’s five athletes who will step inside the national boxing ring in Kimberley.
