MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The man accused of stabbing and killing Lethemba Dube (25) on 16 February this year made a brief appearance in the Mossel Bay Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 5 May.
Dube was found dead, with multiple stab wounds to his back, shoulder and hands in the Marikana informal settlement near Thembalihle Road, KwaNonqaba.
A man living in the settlement had come across Dube’s body when he came out to his backyard that day, and he called the police.
KwaNonqaba Police Station spokesperson Warrant Officer Kappie Kapp previously told Mossel Bay Advertiser that it appeared that nothing had been stolen from Dube in the attack.
Two men were arrested in connection with the murder in a matter of hours after Dube’s body was found; however, only Athenkosi Ndleleni has since been charged. The second person was released.
The matter against Ndleleni has been postponed to 28 May for further investigation.
