MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a warning for damaging waves expected in Mossel Bay this week, beginning today, 6 October.
The weather service has warned of disruptions to beachfront activities, while small vessels may be at risk of taking on water or capsizing.
In light of this warning, the Mossel Bay Fire, Rescue and Disaster Management Services will be monitoring The Point area.
On the Mossel Bay Muncipality’s Facebook page, members of the public have been cautioned to be mindful and avoid certain areas at The Point, including Die Poort.
The SAWS has also warned the public to be aware of large unpredictable waves along the coast, advising small vessels to seek shelter in harbours, bays or inlets.
