MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Da Gamaskop Police have opened a case of culpable homicide following the death of a 50-year-old cyclist who was hit by a vehicle on the N2 this morning, 7 March.
The incident took place just after the Langeberg Mall turn-off in the direction of Cape Town.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies said the police were dispatched to the scene at about 09:00 following reports of a cyclist having been hit by a Nissan Magnite.
The man was declared dead on the scene.
Spies said the preliminary investigation indicated that the man had been travelling to work when the accident occurred.
He said the investigation is ongoing.
