MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A man in his late 20s was killed instantly when he was struck by a vehicle while cycling in Louis Fourie Road, Heiderand, on Sunday evening, 2 February.
Mossel Bay Police Station officers received a report that a man had been hit by a car on Louis Fourie Road between the Essenhout and Melkhout street intersections at about 21:00 that evening.
The man was declared dead at the scene by emergency medical services and a case of culpable homicide was opened.
The vehicle which struck the man was not at the scene when police and emergency services arrived.
Information regarding the vehicle that struck the man, including the registration number, was relayed to the police and the following morning, 3 February, the car was traced and confiscated for forensic investigation.
