MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Chris Nissen, Commissioner of the South African Human Rights Commission today, 23 March visited several informal settlements in the greater Mossel Bay.
In Mossel Bay, he met with residents in Gaatjie, where 18 families live in utter squalor. From there Nissen was taken to Great Brak River and Brandwag to similar informal settlements.
Also part of Nissen's mission to Mossel Bay, was to address a meeting held in Extension 13 regarding the lagging of SASSA payments to beneficiaries.
It is said that some beneficiaries attending the meeting at the Lighthous Assemblies of God Church, have not received their SASSa payments for three months now.
