MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The South Cape TVET College is walking tall. At a gala dinner on Wednesday, 27 July, the college, the head office of which is in George, received the Department of Higher Education and Training's Gold Award as the best performing college for strategic partnerships in student job placements.
Alewijn Dippenaar, chairman of the college council, said the win illustrated the good relationship between the college and the business sector in the Garden Route.
"Congratulations to all staff who worked tirelessly to place our college students."
Dippenaar said besides the great honour for the college, the accolade also said something about the quality of cooperation taking place.
It was the first time the college had received the award. There were three award categories and awards were presented as follows:
Category A: Recognition of the Best Performing Host Employers

- 2 TFG
- 3 Vodacom
Category B: Recognition of the Best Performing TVET Colleges
- 1 South Cape TVET College
- 2 False Bay TVET College
- 3 Sekhukhune TVET College
Category C: College with the highest number of local and international partnerships
- 1 Sedibeng TVET College
- 2 Nkangala TVET College
- 3 Kinh Hintsa TVET College
