MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Often police members face extremely difficult situations that inevitably leave an indelible impression on them: they attend to the scene of a murder, have to work with rape victims, have to console parents whose children went missing or were murdered.
Until recently, counselling was available to these police members, but the counsellors were not necessarily easily accessible as they were not stationed in Mossel Bay.
This changed with the appointment of Warrant Officer (Reverend) Mphatseng, who will forthwith be available to serve the police community of the Da Gamaskop Police Cluster.
"The chaplain will be stationed at the Mossel Bay Police Station but will be available to all of the police stations in the cluster.
"He will be able to attend to the spiritual needs of the members and will counsel members, should they require it," the officer commanding the Da Gamaskop Police Cluster, Brig Gerhard Jantjies, said.
The brigadier welcomed Wo Mphatseng and invited police members to contact him as and when necessary.
