MOSSEL BAY NEWS - He's done it again.
Mossel Bay's "ocean boy" Johan Swanepoel has taken the most extraordinarily beautiful photographs and posted them online and received thousands of views. Swanepoel, who works in the building trade, is passionate about diving and marine photography.
Many of these pictures he has posted most recently, were taken before lockdown while he could still move around and others - of sunrises and sunsets - were captured from his home in Da Nova during the lockdown.
Two websites, Mosselbaai Advertensies and Mosselbaai op sy Beste, asked Johan if they could use his photographs during the lockdown. The photographs on the two websites combined have drawn a hearty, positive response from the public. They have achieved a "reach" of more than 100 000 and achieved more than 3 000 "likes''.
On his own facebook page, @swimmingsharkville, the photographs reached 19 500.

Besides Swanepoel's firey, red sunsets and sunrises, his photographs feature spectacular cloud formations; powerful waves crashing; shells glistening in the sun; popular swimming spot Die Poort under a brooding sky; cheerful, yellow wild flowers at the seaside; and a glimpse of the St Blaize walking trail.
Swanepoel only started taking photographs two years ago and is self taught. He believes Mossel Bay would benefit if someone sponsored him photographic equipment because he is promoting the town highly effectively online.
