MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Garden Route District Municipality (GRDM) had a meeting with Petro SA senior management this week with regards to complaints relating to offensive odours.
It was resolved that this is a matter of urgency and will receive the needed attention.
A technical committee will be established of which GRDM Air Quality Section will form part of to identify the cause and implement mitigation measures as required.
It must be understood that due to the nature of the processes at the refinery, pin pointing activities that give rise to offensive odours is time consuming. Petro SA senior management is fully committed to resolve the issue as acting in an Environmentally responsible manner is of utmost importance.
