GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - An organisation which looks after beagle dogs is taking care of a dog found in a dire condition on the Outeniqua Pass.
The beagle cross was picked up on the pass on 19 March by a good Samaritan - a Mossel Bay resident.
The dog was then fetched by Beagle Rehoming and Assessments with Grace (BRAG), based Cape Town, a BRAG spokesperson told the Mossel Bay Advertiser. A kind supporter contributed to the transport and treatment of the dog.
It had a blockage caused by bones and scraps in its stomach and had many worms and parasites.
It also had injuries and had to be treated for bronchitis.
The post on the BRAG Facebook page noted that the dog was "super hungry, scared and full of sores and cuts" when found. "Positive identification will be required if you think this baby belongs to you."
Call 082 226 8682 if you know to whom the dog might belong.
It is not known how the dog came to be on the Outeniqua Pass.
