Rules and regulations
A person is not allowed to walk a dog - other than a guide dog - in a public street or public place without a poop bag at hand.
Dogs are allowed on the pavement areas (tarred, brick, paved) of beachfronts.
Dogs that could be considered dangerous, vicious or ferocious, must be humanely muzzled and kept under control at all times.
No animals should be left in an unattended or closed vehicle or open bakkie in any public street or space, particularly in high temperatures. If these by-laws are not adhered to a fine of up to R1 000 may be imposed.
No female dog on heat may be walked in the public beach areas and dog handlers must at all times ensure that their dogs do not chase, hinder or injure wildlife.
