Bail granted to sexual assault suspect

The suspect was released on bail of R500 and he was warned to be back in court on 26 June.

MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A 44-year-old man, accused of sexually assaulting two eight-year-old girls, was granted bail in the Mossel Bay Magistrate’s court on Monday, 22 May.

The suspect was arrested on 26 April after the parents of the girls went to the police. He has been in custody since.

The alleged assaults took place at his home in Tarka. Hundreds of Mossel Bay residents signed a no bail petition, which was handed over to the court last week.

The suspect was released on bail of R500 and he was warned to be back in court on 26 June.
