MOSSEL BAY NEWS - In Sneeuberg Street in Asla Park, in an area where illegal dumping has occurred frequently, the municipality has intervened.
After receiving several complains about the area, the municipal environmental officer, Nombuyiselo Majola, devised a plan and subsequently, on 30 May the clean-up work was done.
The affected area was cleared using machinery, then the staff teamed up with some of the residents in that area and had an area surfaced with bricks.
The CWP (Community Works Programme) personnel, accompanied by Majola, went door to door, giving educational talks about the effects of illegal dumping.
They also distributed pamphlets and a refuse bag per household to approximately 20 households.
