MOSSEL BAY NEWS - An elderly couple were accosted during an armed robbery at their home in P Speciosa Street, Dana Bay.
Three armed suspects gained access the couple’s home at approximately 21:00 on Thursday, 13 January and surprised their victims who were watching television.
The suspects were respectively armed with a knife, a panga and a fire arm and demanded money from the victims.
They assaulted the man and tied up both victims. According to the KwaNonqaba police, the woman was forced to open the safe and the suspects fled with six firearms, jewelry and liquor at approximately 02:00 this morning, 14 January.
Whilst escaping through the bathroom window, they dropped one of the firearms.
“The man sustained light injuries and the woman is severely traumatised as a result of the incident. We are urgently looking for any information that could lead to an arrest being made. There are no identikits available at present. Any person who can assist, can call the investigation officer, Sgt Lindie van Loggerenberg on 79 894 1599,” says spokesperson, Sgt Kappie Kapp.
