KWANONQABA NEWS - Locals and founders of the non-profit organisation Ikhaya, have been visiting schools in the KwaNonqaba area, in collaboration with the KwaNonqaba Police, as part of an anti-drug campaign.
Walter Blaq and Lazola Kanu visited their first school, Isalathiso Primary School, with police officers, local musician, MofCando on Friday, 13 September.
"It went well. It was great and the seed has been planted. We will just keep watering it, so can grow properly," said Blaq.
"The learners were excited and happy. We visited the school and other schools because we care and we want the children to have a beautiful future.
"We spoke to them about how drugs can ruin their future and that they negatively affect our society."
He said that after the presentation, in which KwaNonqaba Police officer, Constable Asavela Zani, also spoke to the learners, the children played some games, had a dancing competition and had basic boxing lessons with Kanu, who is also a boxing coach.
Blaq, who is a content creator at Black Sheep Network and co-owner of Mary Jane, a business that specialises in hemp-based food for hair, said he handed out hair products to the children.

The pair went to Imekhaya Primary School on Monday, 16 September, and will visit Garden Route Primary School on 20 September.
Kwanonqaba Police Station spokesperson Warrant Officer Kappie Kapp said Blaq and his organisation had been a partner of the police for a long time and that they had collaborated on many projects in the past.
"We believe that through the young people, who are our future, we can turn the tide on crime and for that reason, we get involved with these young, upcoming artists and organisations that have the same message: that we are against drugs," said Kapp.
Blaq said the campaign tour was filmed and the video will appear on the Black Sheep Network's YouTube Channel. He said it was filmed by Kizzle Shot It.
